Bring Your Own Device

When students physically return to school, they will be required to bring their a device. Teachers will continue with online learning to provide consistency for the students, but will also use this opportunity to expand on students' learning by preparing them for 21st Century skills so they are college and career ready. .

  • If you have a district-issued device, there is nothing further you need to do. Please be sure to bring your fully-charged device with you on your first day of school.
  • If you have your own personal device that you plan to bring to school, please follow the directions below PRIOR to arriving at school to ensure the device is ready to connect to our school's WiFi and network.
  • If you do not have a device to bring to school or your device is not supported (see below), please log into Parent Connect and request one today! Click here for step-by-step directions.

Prepare your device BEFORE arriving to school.

We will have "Onboarding" days the week prior to returning to school so students can bring their device to ensure they can connect to the WiFi. Prior to arriving, please follow the steps below.

Here are the biggest issues we have found when working with students:
  1. Students did not complete the directions below PRIOR to arriving to campus. Because of this, they cannot connect to our WiFi and have to use alterative methods to download when they arrive, which takes a great deal of time.
  2. Microsoft devices do not have enough RAM. Type "About" in the search bar, then click on "About your PC," and the look at "Installed RAM." It should be 4 GB or higher. If it's not high enough, students can purchase a booster for around $20 or request a device from the district (click here for step-by-step directions).
  3. Microsoft devices do not have Windows 10. Type "About" in the search bar, then click on "About your PC," and then look at "Windows specifications" to confirm you have Windows 10. If you do not, click here to update it (free for CNUSD students).
