Office Hours: Mon–Fri 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (by e-mail or we can make an appointment for a phone call or a small group online meeting).  I will answer any e-mails I receive at any other time within 24 hours.

For assignments, sign up for our Google Classroom page and Remind (check your school e-mail for the codes).  If you have any trouble signing up or accessing either program, or if there are glitches accessing individual assignments, please contact me by e-mail.  I will also post vocabulary lists for you to practice with on Quizlet.

We will be using iLit for our core curriculum, but I will also be supplementing that with content from EssayPop, Quizlet, Pearson Savvas, Rosetta Stone, and other materials as appropriate.

We will also have daily class meetings live via Zoom (during your scheduled period between 1:00–3:00 p.m.) that will be a very important time for instruction, questions, interaction with your peers, and practice of your speaking and listening.  Please be on time and prepared.  Check your school e-mail for the link code.

Fortunately, English is a subject you can also study on your own by reading, reading, and more reading.  I also encourage you to write, any type of writing in any format on any subject.  If you become a life-long reader and writer, then no disruption to your traditional schooling will prevent you from becoming a highly-literate, well-informed individual.  Even talking is a useful tool to develop your thinking, as well as communication skills, if you discuss with others what you have read or written.

To assist with that, I will be assigning activities specifically focused on the state standards for this class.  I will also be suggesting other ways for you to expand your literary knowledge with book lists, video links, movies, or other websites.
