ABOUT WATER TESTING
In January and February of 2019, the Corona-Norco USD, in conjunction with our local water agencies, has tested lead levels in drinking water at all CNUSD school sites, in compliance with Assembly Bill 746.
To further safeguard water quality in California’s K-12 public schools, California Assembly Bill 746 requires community water systems to test lead levels in drinking water at all California public, K-12 school sites that were constructed before January 1, 2010. CNUSD has taken this opportunity to test all school sites to ensure the highest water quality for all of our students and staff.
ABOUT LEAD LEVELS
A location is listed as “Above Action Level” if a drinking water sample taken at that location produces a test result of greater than 15 parts per billion (ppb), which is the action level established by the State Water Resources Control Board and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
All drinking water outlets where lead was identified above the state’s action level of 15 ppb were secured until remediation was completed. One part per billion is equivalent to about one drop in an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
