Click here for the modified Orientation (due to Covid-19)

What should students bring to the Freshmen Orientation?

  1. Registration Packet - Complete all of the steps required for registration prior to arriving! Click here for complete details.
  2. What to wear - Wear plenty of sunscreen, shorts or pants, nice top for pictures, and comfortable shoes. We hope to have new Norco High School spirit t-shirts to wear during their Orientation. View Dress Code Policy.
  3. Small bag - to hold personal items
  4. Water or something to drink - We will provide lunch at noon, so they may get a little thirsty between drop-off and lunch. Drinking fountains will be available to students between the starting time and lunch.
  5. Small snack - We will provide lunch at 12pm, so a little something to hold them over, like a granola bar, would be ideal to keep them energetic throughout all of the fun activities. Vendors may be available throughout the day (cash only).
  6. Cell Phone - Although not required, we teach students how to look up their schedules on their phones and encourage students to capture their favorite moments during their fun-filled day.
  7. Sun Protection - Students will get a tour of campus plus experience the Cougar Den in our football stadium, so we recommend bringing sunscreen, a hat and/or sunglasses to protect themselves from the sun.
  8. Cash - Food vendors will be selling food and drinks in the quad at lunch time. Lunch only provides one slice of pizza, so bring a little extra cash if you think you may need a little more. The Fruit Lady will be here, too, so we have healthy options!
  9. Order Forms/Payment - Bring your completed photo order forms with payment, as well as the Activities Office/Student Store order form. Parents will be invited to return to campus after 2pm to assist students who need to pay with a credit card (the cardholder must be present).

Students will be assigned as a group to a specific classroom, so there will be places to store personal belongings there, too.

What if my student is unable to attend the Orientation? No problem! We'll get them their shirt when they return on the first day of school. To complete registration, students may come on any registration day to ensure they get all steps completed.
