Schedules

Courses Offered (may have changed since we last posted this)

When can we view our schedules?
Check Student and Parent Connect Sunday, August 9th at 6pm. Virtual students may see some additional changes - counselors are working this weekend, so we recommend checking again on Monday.

Why do I see more than one class during a class period?
This is only applicable for students on the Virtual track. Because space was so limited, we used some creativity and double-booked some of your class periods. Your teachers are aware and will be using their 20 minutes with their classes creatively (such as meeting with one group on M/W and the other group T/Th).

How do we change schedule?

  • Restrictions: Only necessary changes permitted. No changes for period or teacher requests. Space is extremely limited - as long as core subject areas are accurate, please, no requests for elective changes.
  • How: Email your counselor directly.

When is the last day to change our schedule?

  • Traditional/Remote: 8/21
  • Virtual: 8/14
  • Drop from Honors or AP course in either track if space allows: 9/4

Where can I find the various ways to graduate with cords or medals?

  • Course Major Medal - take 4 years of honors/AP in a subject (plus some additional requirements) to earn a medal to wear at graduation.
  • Dare to Soar Cord - take all 3 or 4 years in your favorite elective class to earn a cord to wear at graduation.
  • Honors Stole - earn a cumulative gpa 3.0 or higher

If we signed up for Virtual, can we come to campus for any classes?
Students who are signed up for the Virtual track may possibly be permitted to take classes at NHS on the Traditional Track. For a list of approved electives, see list below.

Students who are signed up for the Traditional track will have priority with their schedule requests in the courses listed below. Once all Traditional students' schedules are finalized, the counselors will begin scheduling Virtual students into the following elective programs, giving priority to upper-classmen (12th graders first, followed by 11th graders, then 10th graders, then 9th graders). When room is no longer available, counselors will change students' on the Virtual track to an elective offered on the Virtual track.

  • Athletics
  • Work Experience
  • Choir
  • Band
  • AVID
  • ASB
  • Ag (excluding core classes: Ag. Bio., Ag. Nat. Sci., Ag. Chem.)

How can I change which track I am on?
You may submit your request by emailing tsanzari@cnusd.k12.ca.us. Please remember that the selection you made in June was the data used to calculate our staffing on both tracks, so seating is extremely limited. We already have a list started from July which we are not able to meet all of the requests for, so we do not anticipate any opportunities for changes this year.
