Virtual School

(Also known as the VS Track)

How will we start on the first day of school?
First, start by checking your CNUSD email. Your teachers will be emailing you with information about how to meet as a class as well as any login information. (Reset Password

What system do I log into to do my work?

It is estimated that students and staff will be able to log into Edgenuity (the software used in the Virtual School) by Wednesday, August 12th. Your teachers may also use additional supplemental resources and assignments. Your teacher will provide you with login instructions.

What is the Virtual bell schedule?
Click here... The early morning was designed to allow students time to work. The afternoon periods are short 20-minute check-ins with their teacher/class to ensure everything is running smoothly and so teachers can build a connection with students.

What is the name of the learning management system we will be using?
The software is called Edgenuity. It is similar to Odysseyware but has a great deal of updates. It is self-paced, but provides a great deal of feedback and information to both the student and teacher so students can learn and revise work while teachers can also closely monitor the student's progress. Edgenuity Video Library...

How often do we login?
Students should log into Edgenuity daily, as well as any other places the teacher requests. The Edgenuity program has a built in calendar and will establish your pacing to ensure you complete the curriculum within the semester.

Do we need textbooks or workbooks?

No. The curriculum is entirely online through the Edgenuity learning management system, including the reading, videos, interactive tools, tests, quizzes and assignments. Teachers may supplement with additional materials if they so choose. If you would like to check out a textbook, feel free to attend the Textbook Pick-Up Days (Aug 11-14).

How can we contact our teacher?
Before school starts, students can first find their teachers in their schedule, which will be located in Student Connect account under "Schedules" by Sunday, August 9th. (Click here for the Staff Email list for NHS staff.) Students will also be able to contact their teacher through the Edgenuity program as well as other options the teacher provides (such as Remind or email).

How will I be graded?

Students will see their progress and grade in the Edgenuity program as they complete assignments/tests/quizzes. We will also adhere to the regular report card windows as we would during the traditional school year (click here to view dates).

What if I need help?
Your teachers will provide you with their regular Office Hours, which should be shared with you in the first week of school and also located in the course syllabus. They will also let you know how to meet during these Office Hours (e.g. Zoom, email).Teachers are ready and willing to help and are learning along with you, so be sure to reach out to them should you have any concerns or questions. Here are some additional resources to better assist you as you make the transition to the Virtual setting:

Students with an IEP

  • A new Case Carrier (teacher) will be assigned to all students in the Virtual School. Case Carriers will reach out to parents within the first week of school. Copies of the IEP-at-a-Glance will be provided to all of the students' teachers.
  • One-on-One Paraeducators will attend all virtual meetings with the student and may schedule meetings with the student to provide support.
  • IEP's will be scheduled with the Case Carrier (teacher from the Virtual School) and an administrator from Norco High School. Parents may choose to postpone their annual meetings until school reopens and in-person meetings are permitted.

Students with 504 Plan

  • A copy of all 504 Plans will be sent to all students' teachers.
  • Annual meetings will begin the second week of school.
  • Norco High administrators will lead and facilitate the meeting and will serve as the case manager.
  • Meetings will be held via Zoom (not in person). Parent may choose to postpone the annual 504 Plan review until school reopens and in-person meetings are permitted.
