Attendance & Tardies

no more than 12

Attendance Office
 (951) 736-3247

How to clear an absence:
Anyone listed as an Emergency Contact for a student may call or stop by the Attendance Office. Parents who have access to Parent Connect may email (please email from the email address we have on file). Please bring in a note if it was due to an appointment.

Maximum absences:
Students may miss up to 12 days per school year. Students who miss more (whether it is excused or not excused) will alert the office and someone will be in touch to inquire about the conditions of the absences and to work with the family to find some resolution. (Also refer to SART and SARB pages for possible methods of resolving habitual absences.)

Maximum tardies:
Students may earn up to 20 tardies in one school year.

Arriving late to 1st period:
Students who are tardy report directly to class, including 1st period, up to the first 15 minutes of class. Students who arrive later than that must report to the Attendance Office.

Leaving school early:
Anyone listed as an Emergency Contact may call or stop by the Attendance Office to release student Text from parent to student may not be used to release a student.

When to stay home:
Sick students should only stay home if they have a fever, are vomiting, or a contagious illness. All other reasons are not justified reasons to be absent, nor will the Health Office call parent should a student ask to go home (e.g. menstrual cramps, headache, nausea).

What happens if students miss too much school:
Students may be placed on an Attendance Contract (called a SART). If attendance continues to be an issue, it may lead to a SARB.
