Sports Medicine

NORCO SPORTS MEDICINE PATHWAY

The Sports Medicine Pathway is open to 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students who are interested in medicine and patient care for the athletic and active population. We aim to educate and prepare students to be the healthcare providers of the future. Successful pathway completers (achieving B or higher in the classes) receive a Dare to Soar cord to wear at graduation. 

Pathway Courses: (Clicking on the course will take you to the syllabus)

Year 1: Sports Medicine and Therapeutic Services Level 1 (Intermediate)
Year 2: Sports Medicine and Therapeutic Services Level 2 (Advanced
Optional: Sports Medicine Lab 7th Period (Must be currently enrolled in Sports Med 1 or 2 or previously taken the course)

Dare to Soar Requirements
- Successful completion of Intro and Advanced Sports Medicine with B average
- Maintaining participation in Sports Med class upon completion by being a part of Sports Med Lab 7th Period

HOSA: Future Health Professionals

What is HOSA? HOSA is a global student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education the Department of Health and Human Services. HOSA's Mission is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community, through education, collaboration and experience. All students in the Pathway will be required to join HOSA and aim to compete in the Regional and State Competitive Events. Click on this link to learn more and be taken to their website.
