Welcome Message:

This is Mr. Rudd. Welcome to distance learning! I miss seeing all of you at school but we will make the best of this situation. I hope most of you will participate! I will do my best to make this opportunity for learning as enjoyable as possible.

Important Announcements:

> Monday, 4/9: As many of you may already be aware, classes resume on Monday, April 13th. Since we are not allowed on campus at this time, we will be completing the year in an "online" classroom. Participation in this online classroom is OPTIONAL. I will be using Canvas as the platform for our online classroom. Instructions on how to "log in" and access our Canvas "online" Classroom will be emailed to students via their CNUSD school email addresses. If a guardian would like to request info and details describing how students can get connected, please reach out to me via email.

Answers to FAQ's:

What are "office hours"?

These are times (10 am to 12pm) that I will be actively checking my email and available for conferencing with students/guardians. Although I may be available for communication at other days and times, please contact me via email so we can make the necessary arrangements.

(Student) Am I required to participate in your online classroom?
Taking part in any class at this point is optional; however, I am here to teach and guide you if you want. Some of you could greatly benefit from opportunities to raise your grade, so I will offer as many points as I can. Although this is true, please realize that there is only so much your grade can raise. See the following response for more information.

(Student) How will the assignments I complete during this time affect my grades for this semester?

Assignments completed will be graded, you will receive feedback, and the points you earn will be reflected in your overall semester grade. Any assignment NOT completed will have NO EFFECT on your overall semester grade. Simply stated, any work that you complete can only HELP your grade (if you submit quality work). Not to mention, it will provide you with an opportunity to continue learning! Student grades will not be "docked" points for assignments (assigned from Monday, April 13th onward) that are not completed, as this would not be fair to students who do not have access to online resources (or cannot be contacted) at this time. I cannot guarantee the completion of assignments will raise your final grade since the points are still "growing" and your grades are dependent on how well you do on each assignment. Please NOTE: Your grade will NOT drop from where it is now. The grade you see on your progress report is the MINIMUM grade that you could receive this semester.
