Course Selection Process

Course Selection Process for each school year... 

Students Select Classes in Student Connect (Jan-Feb)

In January and February, students in grades 9-11 will attend a counselor presentation in the Performing Arts Center (usually through their Language Arts classes). Counselors review graduation pathways, a-g pathways, and other frequently asked questions. Handouts are provided to the students to assist them with their future class planning as well as instructions on how to submit their requests online through Student Connect. This provides time for the students to think about the classes they want to take so that their meeting with their counselors is well-planned out. Click here to view all courses!

Students Meet with Counselors (Feb-Mar)

Students will come up with their Language Arts or History teachers in February and March to meet quickly and review the classes they selected. Counselors will also sign up students for Summer School (parents must approve by logging into Parent Connect). Visit the Summer School website for more information. Missed your meeting? No problem! Simply stop by your counselor to reschedule a time to meet!

Summer School (Jun-Jul)

Students may take classes in Summer School to either retake a class they earned a D/F in or take a class for initial credit so they can free up their schedule for next school year. Counselors return early so they can check through all students' transcripts and make any needed adjustments to their fall schedule.

Fall Registration

This is the time to review your schedule and see if any errors were made or changes needed. Schedules may be changed within the first few days of each semester. Review the Schedule Change Policy for complete details.
